Course Overview
Federal OSHA requires employers to train employees who serve as entry supervisors under the confined spaces in construction standard. An entry supervisor is the qualified person who determines if acceptable entry conditions exist, authorizes and oversees entry, and terminates entry when required. This course teaches the core knowledge and duties for that role under 29 CFR 1926 Subpart AA.

The Entry Supervisor Role
Entry supervisor means the qualified person (such as the employer, foreman, or crew chief) responsible for determining if acceptable entry conditions are present at a permit space where entry is planned, for authorizing entry and overseeing entry operations, and for terminating entry as required by this standard.

Completing this training does not automatically make you an entry supervisor. Your employer must designate each person who is to have an active role as an entry supervisor in entry operations and provide each such employee with the training required by § 1926.1207.
